Project Description
While the Grape Customer app focuses on giving buyers a clean and safe place to shop, the Grape Seller app is built for the people who power that marketplace: local vendors. Many of these sellers are used to handling everything manually, WhatsApp messages, notebooks, and inâperson cash—but want a simple way to move into structured online selling without learning complex tools.
With Grape Seller, vendors can sign in quickly using mobile number + OTP and immediately see a dashboard of their shop. From there, they can add new products with photos, descriptions, and prices, organise them into categories, and keep track of stock levels. Incoming orders appear in an easyâtoâscan list, allowing sellers to accept, prepare, and mark them as completed. They can also apply offers or discounts to boost sales and see at a glance how their store is performing over time.
Behind the scenes, the Flutter app talks to a Laravel + MySQL backend that handles authentication, products, orders, and vendor profiles. An admin panel built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, and Laravel views gives the Grape team full control over vendor onboarding, product approval, marketplace rules, and support, ensuring the platform stays clean and compliant.
Business Goals
The main business goal of the Grape Seller app is to give local vendors a lightweight but powerful way to join the digital marketplace and manage their business from a single app.
Instead of relying on scattered chats and informal arrangements, sellers get a proper storefront, order pipeline, and basic analytics—all while Grape maintains trust and quality standards for the overall marketplace.
At a larger level, the seller app strengthens the supply side of the Grape ecosystem: the easier it is for vendors to list, manage, and fulfil orders, the more products and categories the platform can offer, and the more attractive it becomes for customers.

Challenges & Solutions
Challenges
Solutions
Designing for nonâtechnical, busy sellers
Most vendors don’t have time to learn complex software and may be new to appâbased selling.
The UX is built around clear steps and large, obvious actions, “Add product”, “View orders”, “Update stock”, so sellers can manage their store in a few taps, even between customers.
Keeping marketplace quality high while allowing easy listing
If listing is too open, lowâquality or inappropriate products can slip in and damage trust.
Product submissions flow through an approval process visible in the admin panel, where the Grape team can review, approve, or reject listings based on clear rules.
Helping sellers move from informal chats to structured orders
Vendors are used to “just messaging” with customers.
The app combines easy order handling with familiar elements like notifications and simple status updates, so it feels like an upgrade to their current process rather than a completely foreign system.
Giving useful insights without overwhelming sellers
Data and analytics can be confusing if presented in a complicated way.
The dashboard focuses on a few meaningful metrics, order counts, recent sales, popular items, presented simply, with the option to deepen analytics later as sellers grow.
Keeping the system consistent between seller app, customer app, and admin
Any mismatch in product data, stock, or order status can cause serious friction.
All sides of the marketplace share the same Laravel APIs and database, with clearly defined status flows, so updates from sellers immediately reflect on the customer side and in the admin panel.
