About Project
MeetMidway is a map and GPS-based app designed to help people find the perfect halfway point for meeting friends, family, or colleagues without the usual back-and-forth planning. By entering two locations and selecting preferences, users get smart suggestions for convenient meeting spots like cafés, restaurants, hotels, or landmarks.
iRoid Solutions designed and developed the full product experience, including UI/UX, native iOS and Android apps, API services, admin panel, and web app, to make location-based meetups feel quick, simple, and stress-free.

Project Description
MeetMidway was built for a very common real-life problem: people want to meet in person, but finding a location that works for everyone can take too much time and effort. The app solves that by calculating an equidistant point and turning it into practical meeting suggestions based on user interests and travel convenience.
Our team developed a cross-platform solution using Swift, Kotlin, Laravel, MySQL, and AWS, along with a responsive web layer and admin tools for managing app content and location-based data. The user journey is intentionally straightforward: choose two locations, pick your preferences, and get a useful list of places that make meeting up easier.
The interface was designed to feel clean, fast, and intuitive so users can plan a meetup in seconds, whether it’s for a casual coffee date, a business discussion, or a weekend hangout.
Business Goals
The main business goal behind MeetMidway was to remove the friction from planning meetups and make location discovery effortless for everyday users. Instead of spending time on chat threads debating where to go, users can quickly find a midpoint and focus on the actual meeting.
From a product perspective, the platform aims to become a trusted utility for smarter meetups, helping users save time, reduce confusion, and discover better places along the way. The broader goal is to create a practical map-based product that people return to whenever they need a fair, convenient meeting spot.

Clean map-driven interface
The UI focuses on clarity and quick decision-making, which is important for a utility app that users want to complete in seconds.
Web and admin support
A backend admin panel and web app help manage data, app settings, and operational content behind the scenes.
Scalable architecture
Built with Swift, Kotlin, Laravel, MySQL, and AWS, the platform is ready for expansion and future feature growth.

Challenges & Solutions
Challenges
Solutions
Solving a simple problem in a useful way
Finding a “halfway point” sounds easy, but users really want a spot that is actually practical, not just mathematically centred.
We designed the flow to focus on convenience and relevance, using location data and interest filters to suggest places that people would realistically want to meet at.
Making map-based decisions feel fast
Location apps can become slow or complicated if too much information is shown at once.
The interface was kept minimal and direct, so users can enter details and reach the best options quickly without feeling overwhelmed.
Supporting different use cases
MeetMidway needs to work for coffee meetups, business meetings, family visits, and casual trips.
We built flexible recommendation paths so the app can adapt to different meeting styles without changing the core experience.
Delivering consistent results across regions
A location app needs to stay useful whether the user is in a major city or a smaller area.
The backend and mapping logic were structured to support broad geographic coverage, with a scalable API foundation and location-aware suggestions.
Keeping the product lightweight and dependable
Since this is a utility app, users expect instant value and smooth performance.
We used a clean cross-platform stack and an optimized backend so the app stays responsive and easy to maintain as it grows.
