About Project
Stork is a family‑focused ride‑sharing app built to help parents safely, reliably, and conveniently manage their children’s everyday transportation, school, activities, playdates, and more, without sacrificing peace of mind.
iRoid Solutions partnered with Stork to design and develop a Flutter‑based mobile app, backend API services, and an admin panel that put safety, transparency, and control at the center of every ride.

Project Description
Stork was created by parents who understood how stressful it can be to juggle school drop‑offs, practice runs, and changing schedules while still wanting to protect their children at every step. The product needed to feel like a trusted partner, simple enough for busy parents, but robust enough to handle real‑world transportation challenges.
We worked closely with the client team to capture that vision in a unified platform: a Flutter app for iOS and Android, Node.js/Express APIs, a MongoDB‑powered data layer, and a web‑based admin panel for operations and support.
The parent app focuses on booking and tracking rides, while the driver experience and admin tools handle route management, safety protocols, and customer support. Features like background‑checked drivers, live GPS tracking, OTP‑verified pickups, and detailed driver profiles are woven into the core flows so parents don’t have to compromise between convenience and safety.
On the design side, we created a warm, reassuring visual language, clean layouts, friendly iconography, and clear status indicators, to make the app approachable while still communicating seriousness around safety and reliability.
Business Goals
The main business goal for Stork was to build a standalone transportation brand dedicated to children and families, rather than a generic ride‑sharing addon. The client wanted parents to think of Stork whenever they needed a safe, dependable ride for their kids.
At a product level, the goal was to reduce the daily logistics burden on families while giving them real‑time visibility and control: schedule rides in advance, track journeys live, and feel confident about who is driving their child.
From an operations perspective, Stork also needed strong tools for managing drivers, monitoring rides, handling support requests, and scaling to new neighborhoods and cities, laying the foundation for a sustainable, trust‑driven transportation business.
Features
Safety‑First Ride Experience
Every driver is rigorously background‑checked, and parents can view detailed profiles with experience, ratings, and community reviews before trusting them with their child.
Live GPS Tracking & Notifications
Parents follow each ride in real time through integrated GPS, with instant notifications for pickup, drop‑off, and any status changes along the way.
Secure OTP‑Verified Pickups
Pickups and drop‑offs are confirmed using a secure OTP system, helping ensure the right child is matched with the right driver at the right time.
Easy Booking & Recurring Rides
Families can book one‑time rides or set up recurring trips for school runs and regular activities, simplifying weekly schedules with just a few taps.
Carpooling & Cost Optimization
Carpool options allow parents to share rides with other families, reducing overall costs while building local community connections.
Professional, Child‑Friendly Drivers
Drivers are selected not only for qualifications but also for their ability to work with children, providing a calm, friendly presence that reassures both kids and parents.
In‑App Support & Issue Handling
24/7 in‑app support gives parents a direct channel to ask questions or report concerns, backed by admin tools that help the Stork team respond quickly and track resolutions.
Cloud‑Backed, Flutter‑Powered Platform
A single Flutter codebase for iOS and Android sits on top of Node.js/Express services, MongoDB, and AWS hosting, enabling fast development, consistent UX, and reliable performance as the user base grows.

Challenges & Solutions
Challenges
Solutions
Earning parental trust in a sensitive category
Transporting children is one of the most trust‑critical services; any ambiguity around safety or transparency could block adoption.
We embedded safety features into every stage of the experience, background checks, visible driver profiles, OTP verification, GPS tracking, and clear ride status, to make trust a tangible part of the product, not just a marketing message.
Balancing convenience with strict safety workflows
Parents need quick booking, but safety steps (verification, confirmations, notifications) can add friction if not designed carefully.
UX flows were crafted to keep security steps simple and predictable, using guided screens and smart defaults so parents can schedule rides in seconds without skipping critical safeguards.
Coordinating parent, driver, and admin apps in real time
Ride status, location, and communication must stay perfectly in sync across all parties, especially during peak hours.
A robust Node.js/Express API layer with real‑time updates and clear event handling ensures that bookings, cancellations, and status changes propagate instantly to parents, drivers, and admin dashboards.
Designing for emotional reassurance, not just functionality
Parents needed more than features, they needed to feel calm and confident while their child is in transit.
We used a warm, family‑oriented visual identity, straightforward language, and gentle microcopy to reinforce the idea that Stork is a caring partner, supported by attentive customer service and a driver network trained for child transport.
Preparing the platform for geographic expansion
Stork aims to serve multiple cities, each with different regulations, traffic patterns, and demand peaks.
The architecture was built with scalability in mind, AWS hosting, modular services, and flexible data models—so new regions, drivers, and ride policies can be added without disrupting existing users.
