The application supports individual and team responses, incorporating critical thinking (CT) and critical reflection (CR) activities with tools like KWL-IQ for meaningful learning. Initially deployed for the UDE1001 module, the system aims to scale across various project-based courses.

The admin site enables full control over users, dropdown lists, courses, and competency roadmaps with functions for creation, editing, filtering, and CSV export. Courses can be published live or saved as drafts, and roadmaps can be dynamically generated. The user interface offers course listings with advanced filtering, search, and bookmarking capabilities. Users can view course details, access external links, and interact with dynamic competency roadmaps, including detailed course tables and roadmap generation.

The Split Second app provides two methods to get challenges. First, you can make your own! Using your tablet, you can design challenges that train the skills you desire. You can also share these challenges with others. Challenges can use pictures, videos, and sound files; all of which can be generated from your tablet. Besides creating challenges, there is also the Split Second Challenge Store. In the store you can download challenges that most interest you. There are plenty of categories including trivia, sports, reading, math, and history.
